As the capital city of Wales, Cardiff is the main engine of growth in the Welsh economy. It is the one of the most popular tourist destination cities in the United Kingdom, with one survey recording just under 12 million visitors in 2006. Cardiff Airport, the only international airport in Wales is situated in the village of Rhoose, 10 miles (16 km) west of the city. There are regular bus services linking the airport with the Cardiff Central Bus Station as well as a train service from Rhoose Cardiff International Airport railway station to Cardiff Central.
